Till then zoos will satisy our vicarious feelings for seeing the big cats. These photos were taken by me at pilikula zoological park, mangalore. Good bye Panthera Tigris.

Mahabaleshwar - part II

Image
Continuation of my previous post. The next day we decided to go site-seeing in taxi. The taxi rates area standard as you can see in the below picture. For family budget travelling comfortably it will be ideal to hire a taxi. We visited the needle hole point. As the name indicates you can guess.   Again a monkey snatched a guava fruit from me. Then we went to get the spectacular view of venna valley, river and the dam. It was a splendid view to see the river flowing in between the hills. Do you know that mahabaleshwar is famous for strawberry gardens. That was our next destination. We had delicious strawberries directly from the plant and satisfied our appetite. Then we went to venna lake and had a pleasant boat ride in the evening and ended our tour to mahabaleshwar.

On the first day we bought a map rom the local store and just discussed about the view points we can cover. From the map we inferred the nearest points are within a kilometre in range and started immiediately to the   Mumbai point-other name for sunset point .                                                   The road to Mumbai point. We reached in no time around 3:00 PM, spent some time there enjoying the sun waiting for it    to disappear when viewed from a hill. We lost patience at around 4:00 PM and realised our mistake. Because it is a sunset point , sun need not set whenever a tourist comes there and we are too early for that. So we sent on foot to our next view point – The lodwick point.                                                  On the way to lodwick point The road
