After visiting belum caves we asked the local people , is there any other places to see nearby , we got the yaganti temple and shankara cave at a distance of 45 KMs from belum caves near the town banganapalle. Straight we headed there and found the caves are not being allowed for public much to our dissapointment. Here you see what we have seen there at yaganti temple.

Temple pond – water appears muddy due to recent rains.

The temple main entrance

The shankara cave

The agasthya cave

The rain water from the hill top is collected and a passage is made within rocks and exits at the mouth of the statue. This has been attempted in so many temples so that water falls perpetually over the god’s statue- using river water flow in the hampi.

Nandi – discharging water

The brass pillar

Some sculpting works in pillars

On the way to banganapalle town from the temple there is an unused building- local people call it the nawab bungalow, said to be used by one of the earlier nawab who ruled here.

After this we went to raichur. Journey continues in the next post.
